Letter of Recommendation
(Please provide your reference a copy of this page to assist with the writing of their recommendation
letter for you.)
Greetings UWM affiliate,
You are being asked to support a student’s scholarship application to participate in a 2012 UWinteriM in
New Orleans course. All UWinteriM in New Orleans courses (Anthropology 150/540; Social Work
291/591/791; SOIS 759) take UWM students to New Orleans (January 3-19, 2012) for a combined
research and service opportunity. Students have a concentrated focus in the Lower 9th Ward and their
service learning field placements, with community partners in New Orleans, focus on return, restoration,
relief, and recovery efforts. Given the required residency component, students are able to devote
themselves solely to their studies. For many of our students, this residency and unique experiential
learning support research, fosters the development of critical thinking skills, and provides them with an
opportunity that will uniquely mark their college experience. You are encouraged to visit the UWM in
New Orleans website at www.neworleans.uwm.edu to learn more about the program.
Instructions:

Please write your letter of recommendation on UWM department letterhead.

Letter of recommendation can be submitted by the student in their application or delivered to the
