CAFETERIA PROCEDURES during SCHEDULED LUNCHES 1. Students enter the lunchroom quietly according to the lunch schedule. Each class is assigned to an entrance door and to a lunch line. Students are expected to remain on the blue line. They may not lean against tables, walls, or sit. When standing in line, appropriate behavior is expected. Fooling around, loud talking or yelling, pushing, fighting, cutting in line, etc.. will not be tolerated. 2. When exiting the line, the student takes his/her lunch to the assigned tables. Students remain in their seats at all times. When students are finished eating, all trash is placed on their plates. The teacher assistant will direct the students in the disposal of trash. 3. The first student in line will give the teacher assistant the class Cafeteria Behavior Chart. If a student misbehaves, the teacher assistant will mark the infraction on the chart next to the appropriate student’s name. At the end of lunch period, the chart is given to the teacher. If a student receives 3 marks within a week, an office visit will be assigned. An administrator will deal with the student in an appropriate way. Students may not trade or share food, use loud voices or create excessive noise, or run. Students must keep their hands and feet to themselves at all times. Students must obey all adults. Teacher assistants may move students to other seats when misbehavior occurs. 4. If students are excessively noisy or an urgent situation occurs, the lights will be flicked off. When the lights are off, NO ONE is to talk. Talking when lights are out may result in a lunchroom infraction for the student. 5.
