STUDENT LUNCH MONITOR JOB DESCRIPTION Under the supervision of an adult lunch supervisor and in cooperation with other Student Lunch Monitors, the responsibilities of this position include: Supervising the students in the room to which they are assigned. Knowing the lunch program expectations for student behaviour and assisting all students to adhere to these expectations Helping students with any difficulties they may have opening their food containers or getting dressed to go outdoors. Attending orientation session and any additional training sessions offered. Arriving in the classroom by 12:00 noon. Remaining in the classroom until all students have left the classroom to go outdoors. Remaining in the classroom until 1:00 on those days when there is indoor recess due to inclement weather. Ensuring the classroom is left clean and tidy. Signing the Student Lunch Monitor Employment Contract Signing the Confidentiality Agreement Notifying the On-Site Coordinator in advance (when possible) when absent from position due to illness, holidays, appointments, etc. Finding a substitute when absent from position. Taking daily attendance. Recording classroom behaviour on a daily basis on the log sheet found in the classroom binder. Completing and submitting Behaviour Incident Forms as required. Submitting timesheets as requested. Student Lunch Monitors not following lunch policies are subject to the following: Informal discussion at which time expectations are reviewed. Formal meeting with On-Site Coordinator and/or School Administrator at which expectations will be re-stated and actions or activities required to meet expectations will be documented. If concerns about performance continue, employment will be terminated.
