Second Grade Weekly Newsletter

What we will learn this week:
Spelling: This week we will be working with the words read, deep, wheel, sleep, feet, seat, leave,
teeth, easy, party, windy and team.
Reading: We will be working with long e with ee,ea,e and y spellings, author’s purpose and verbs.
We will be sending home a reading book on Thursday. Please listen to your child read the
book and send it back on Friday.
Math: We will be working with problem solving, regrouping ones as tens and estimate sums.
Religion:
Mrs. Holey’s class will begin practicing for mass. Our class mass is Wednesday,
December 11th at 8:30.
Mrs. Czech’s class will be finishing Chapter 9 and discussing advent. The Chapter 9 quiz
will be coming home on Tuesday and is due on Wednesday.
Science – The students will be learning about reptiles.
Social Studies – We will be reviewing Unit 2 and taking the test.
Mrs. Czech’s class will review on Monday and take the test on Thursday.
Mrs. Holey’s class will review on Tuesday and take the test on Friday.
Other information:
This Wednesday we have an early release!!
Tuesday, December 3rd – OLOL Reconciliation 6:30 P.M.
Wednesday, December 4th – 3 Hour Early Release! Students will be dismissed at 11:57.
Wednesday, December 11th – Mrs. Holey’s class mass
Thursday, December 12th – Elementary Christmas program.
This Wednesday we will be having a our game time to celebrate reaching the school marathon
goal. We will be playing the games in the classrooms, so there is no need to bring in any
games.
