Dear Parents and Carers,
During this term we are also making preparations for the transition for children from one year group to the
next. As you know we are not permitted to have class sizes above 30 and each year group contains 100
children. This means that every year we have two mixed age classes.
Each year parents are concerned when they discover that their child is to be taught in a mixed age class but
each year those misgivings and fears are overcome when they realise that each child, in which class they are in,
are taught according to their needs and that the teacher knows and plans for the next step in their learning.
The progress of every child is regularly checked and monitored by senior leaders in school.
We have two new members of staff to introduce, Miss Rebecca Power who is joining the Nursery team, and
Miss Amy McKee, a NQT who impressed us all at her interview, joins the Reception team as a newly qualified
teacher from September.
We are also very pleased to announce that Miss Ford was appointed as the Deputy Headteacher today,
replacing Mrs Gratton who officially leaves us at the end of the term.
