SPRING TERM
The children are enjoying our new theme
for the Spring Term, ‘Take One Picture’
and are using the picture to inspire their
work across the curriculum. Curriculum
Information leaflets have already been sent
home to give you more information about
the content of the curriculum in each year
group.
Just a reminder that school will be
closed for children from Monday 16th
February for half term and the first day
back for children will be on Tuesday
24th February.
AFTERSCHOOL CLUBS
Our After School clubs are now up and
running for this term. Please note there
will be no clubs on either Monday 9th
February due to a cluster staff training
event or on Monday 23rd February as this
is a designated staff training day. If your
child no longer wishes to attend a club
please let the school office know so their
place can be allocated to another child.
Last clubs for this term will be on Monday
23rd March.
WORLD BOOK DAY
We will once again be taking part in a
number of book related activities during
the week of World Book Day which this
year is on Thursday 5th March. This year
Mrs Green has planned a multi-cultural
theme for the activities. The Travelling
Book Company will be visiting school so
books will be available to purchase after
school during that week. More details will
follow shortly.
PARENT FORUM MEETINGS
As you will have seen from the letter we
sent out recently, we are trying to make
sure parents have a number of ways to
share views and offer suggestions
regarding various aspects of school. Our
first Parent Forum meeting was last Friday
afternoon on the subject of school dinners.
Only two families were represented at the
meeting but it was helpful to be able to
answer questions and great to receive
suggestions from parents as to ways we
can improve our school meal provision.
The next Parent Forum meeting is planned
for Friday 27th February at 2.30pm on the
subject of our School Website. Please
come along to the meeting if you have any
questions regarding this or suggestions as
to how we can further improve the
information on our website. As always, if
you have any concerns regarding your
child’s education, please contact your
child’s teacher in the first instance. We
have also set up a new email address
specifically to respond to parental queries /
concerns.

ART WORKSHOPS
We will once again be running our Parent
Art Workshops this term. This is an
opportunity for parents to come into
school and work alongside their child to
create a work of art linked to our picture.
Dates for the workshops are as follows:
Y4 – 13th February
Y3 – 27th February
Y5 – 6th March
Y6 – 13th March
Workshops begin at 1.45pm. Please note
that if you have more than one child in
school you can attend one of the sessions
with your children and create a family
masterpiece if you wish to – just let us
know when you return the attendance slip
if you would like to do this.
LOST PROPERTY
Jammie Dodgers have handed us a coat
that was left after one of their sessions. It
is a girls Mountain Warehouse coat aged
11 – 12. Please contact the school office
for more information.
