French Instruction in Kindergarten and Early French Immersion The final report on French instruction in kindergarten and Early French Immersion was discussed by Committee of the Whole on November 17th. We heard from many parents at the meeting who felt that more time was needed for school councils, parents and staff to be aware of the recommendations and to have the opportunity to discuss the recommendations, consider the research on this topic and to provide feedback to the Board. The Committee passed a motion recommending the district undertake additional consultation on this topic and delay the implementation of any changes until September 2017. This recommendation will go to the Board on November 24th for approval. Once approved, additional consultation strategies will be developed. More information and updates will be provided here.
