I have the honour to draw your attention to the case of Mr Mohamed
Musa Mohamed Dawud who was arrested in South Kadugli on 24 April
by a suspected Sudan Armed Forces unit. He is currently being held at
Kadugli Military Hospital while undergoing medical treatment, but he
has no access to a lawyer or his family.
May I urgently and respectfully request you to intervene with the
Sudanese Armed Forces to immediately and unconditionally release
Mohamed Musa Mohamed Dawud as he has been detained solely for
his human rights work as human rights activist from Kornogo village,
West Kadugli, in South Kordofan State.
I urge you to ensure that he is not subjected to torture or ill-treatment
while in detention, pending his release;
I am calling on you to grant Mohamed Musa Mohamed Dawud
immediate access to lawyers of his choice and allow visits from his
family.
