(ancestral) •coralloid roots with nitrogen-fixing cyanobacteria Major groups of gymnosperms Cycadophyta – Cycads •ca. 11 genera (130 spp.) •now restricted distribution •seeds with bright fleshy seed coat--dispersed by plant-eating dinos!
