Content Requirements
Introduction
This document is a guide for the design and production of advertising contents: it
includes general recommendation for digital content design and the recommended
technical specification, to ensure a unified format, guaranteeing consistency of quality
across the digital signage network.
General Requirements
The following section contains specifications applicable to all media types submitted for
scheduling to the digital signage network.

Orientation Portrait
Aspect Ratio 9:16
File size Maximum 30Mb
Remarks:
- Screens are mounted in portrait orientation, which means that content must be
created to enable playback in this format. This format is a similar orientation to
paper-based advertising, however is unusual for traditional digital media creators
(such as for web or television presentation). Media must be developed specifically
for this orientation, which has an aspect ratio of 9:16.
- For video files, to keep size low, the audio channel should not be encoded.
Content Formats
The current supported file formats and media types for the digital signage network are:
- static images
- video
Static images
Format: JPG, GIF or PNG
Resolution: 1080 x 1920
Aspect ratio: 9:16
File size: Maximum 30Mb
Limitations: Animated GIF are not supported
Audio & Video
Format MPEG, AVI, MP4, MOV
Resolution: 1080 x 1920
Aspect ratio: 9:16
File size Maximum: 30Mb
Content size:
Video should be created ‘full screen’ i.e.
with no black around the video, otherwise
borders will appear on the screen, or
incorrectly proportioned images will be
distorted.
Transition:
It is recommended that the video includes
black fade in and out effects.

Content creation
• Content design
• General :This is not a TV spot (no sound, shorter) nor a static poster
Movement: Movements increase impact.
However, this is not an action film; simple web-style animated graphics are often the most effective.
• Text: Use image more than words: the written message has to be short and with short words
for faster comprehension: no more than 80 letters.
Font: Use bold font without decorative
Size: Minimum 12 dots
• Colours visibility: Use preferably RGB colour files
Avoid mix of complementary colours (ex: red & green)
Contrasting colours combinations have better visibility from afar.
White backgrounds could wash out and compete with the remaining of your creative.
