A. Found grace in the midst of absolute corruption. Gen. 6:5-8 B. Noah was a just man… Gen. 6:9 C. Perfect in his generations… Gen. 6:9 D. Noah walked with God. Gen. 6:9 E. Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, Gen 6:22 F. Then the LORD said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation. Sons of God married Daughters of Man… Gen. 6:2 A. Godly line of Seth compromised with ungodly spouses. B. This reflects both godly men and women marrying outside of faith. C. Many instances where unequally yoked destroyed people’s lives. IE. Solomon’s wives turned his heart from God and Paul warns in 2 Corinthians 6. The Unfaithfulness of Noah • Noah found grace, but Noah was not sinless. He messed up too! • Drinking and cursing of Hamm Gen. 9:20-28. • People blame Hamm… but it was Noah who got drunk. • Notice with all the amazing things God said about Noah before this incident, in Genesis there was no praise for Noah afterwards. The Unfaithfulness of Noah • Noah saved his family in the ark and wrecked his family with alcohol. • Lesson: Don’t let alcohol destroy your legacy and wreck life for future generations. • Bible is so truthful it doesn’t gloss over the faults and sins of its characters. • We can learn from both his faithfulness and his mistakes.
