It is called a Suzerain-Vassal covenant. B. An Overlord-Vassal relationship. 1. The overlord was a lord having authority over other all other lords, the ruler of all rulers; absolute power. 2. The vassal is one who enters into mutual obligations with a monarch, in exchange for certain guarantees. The Greatest Chapters in the Bible Exodus 20 CONCLUSION Today, Christians are not bound under the Ten Commandments as found in the law of Moses (Eph. 2:11-16; Mt. 5:18,19; Col. 2:13-17; Heb. 8:6-13). We must obey Jesus, be part of His church and live under His covenant (Ac. 4:12; 2Cor. 3:6; Heb. 12:22-25).
