3. Data collection
1. Interviews with users of DPFC
Date：2010.8—9；
Target recruited：Female sex workers (FSWs) who used more
than two FC1s before ；
Method：FSWs used 3 to 5 DPFC during 2 or 3 weeks , and they
were interviewed ；
Results：16 FSWs recruited，11 of them interviewed ， 50DPFCs
used with 44 men，40 of them used with applicator. 8 FSWs
used the applicator every sex.

Target：the same with WOMEN’S HEALTH PROJECT
Method：face-to-face questionnaire；
Sample: 152；
Questionnaire：add the use of DPFC
4 Compare with insertions
（1）inner ring is slippery and hard to be squeezed, and using
applicator avoid this problem.
“比以前好捏，以前是要用手捏的，那个内环有点滑，抓不住，我就
感觉用棍子好放进去。 ”（P310XW, 39岁）
“这个工具省时间，方便。以前那个放1个，这个都可以放10个了，
闭着眼睛都能放进去。以前那个难拿住（内环）塞进去。现在这
个办法想的好。”(P304PD, 54岁)
4 Compare with insertions
 （2）The applicator is longer than the finger, so that the inner
ring is pushed deeper.
“我喜欢用棍子放，用手放就好像放不到子宫那个地方，每次都
要用指甲从里面把内环套上（宫颈口）去，而且是要弄一会
（意思就是用手调整内环的时候比较长）。
用棍子的话一推进去就到底了，再往旁边捅一下，很容易把
内环套上（宫颈口）。因为用指头的话就没有用棍子那么深，
棍子比较长。”(P310LM, 39岁)

of DPFC was smaller, and they worried about the
out ring would be pushed into the vagina.
“我觉得他一用力的时候，感觉外环要被推进去了，就好
像是跟着（阴茎）进去了。”（P304AL,32岁）

Summary
1. It is easier to squeeze the inner ring into the vagina when
using an applicator than fingers, but the attitude towards
placement for application of inner ring is variable；
2. Hardly had perception of differences of shape ；
3. Different proportions of FSWs using FC1 and DPFC, but
FSWs prefer DPFC to FC1.
