The PC debated extensively if the paper should be considered for review An extended abstract of a paper that is under journal review, or scheduled for publication in a journal after June 2012, may be submitted, when it is clear that the extended abstract differs substantially from the journal version. In such cases, the authors must include the journal version in an appendix that clearly identifies the status of the journal submission. – Ambiguity in CFP caused PC to split on the issue (decided by voting ultimately) – Strong recommendation: Revisit this issue and make CFP clear 10 Awards • We instituted three awards – two Best Paper awards – one Best Student Presentation award • Best papers – Four papers were nominated by PC based on the reviews/merits – Awards Committee (PC member volunteers: Mark de Berg, Gill Barequet, Tamal Dey, Steve Oudot, Edgar Ramos, Takeshi Tokuyama, Sue Whitesides) selected 2 out of these 4. • Best Student presentation – To be decided by audience (bring and turn in your form tomorrow) • Award Sponsor: Mentor Graphics 11 Thanks We thank everyone who makes SoCG a success (authors; audience; speakers; PC; SC; OC; volunteers; sponsors ACM SIGACT, ACM SIGGRAPH; supporters UNC, UNC CS; award sponsor Mentor Graphics) 12
