I am writing to You as supporter of Amnesty International, the non-governmental organization
which, since 1961, has been working in defense of human rights, wherever in the world they are
violated.
I call on You to put a stop to any further flogging of Raif Badawi and to release him immediately
and unconditionally, as he is a prisoner of conscience, detained solely for exercising his right to
freedom of expression. I urge on You to ensure that his conviction and sentence are quashed.
Finally, I call on You to release Suliaman al-Rashudi, Abdullah al-Hamid, Mohammed al-Qahtani,
Abdulaziz al-Khodr, Mohammed al-Bajadi, Fowzan al-Harbi, Abdulrahman al-Hamid, Saleh
alAshwan, Omar al-Sa'id, Loujain al-Hathloul, Waleed Abu al-Khair immediately and
unconditionally, as they are a prisoners of conscience, detained solely for exercising their right to
freedom of expression.
