PS 4000 Flat Wall Form
FACTS
•
•
•
•
The improved tongue-and-groove design simplifies installation on the job
and minimizes the problems associated with concrete spillage at the top of
the wall.
The 1-1/2” width of each stud provides a strong, secure, and generous
surface area for mechanically securing any type of interior or exterior finish.
The unique design provides strength, fire resistance, and dimensional
stability .
provides you with a superior construction technology that delivers costeffective, high-performance structures that are safer, quieter, comfortable,
energy efficient, and more structurally secure and environmentally
responsible than any building system available on the market today.
FLY ASH
FACTS
•
•
•
•
Electricity is the fuel of the “Information Age” and power plants that burn coal account
for more than half of the electricity produced in the United States. These power plants
also produce residual materials like fly ash (which is captured from the exhaust of the
boiler) and bottom ash (which is heavier and falls to the bottom of the boiler). These
and other “coal combustion products” were originally treated as waste and disposed
of in landfills.
Because fly ash use displaces cement use, it also reduces the need for cement
production – a major energy user and source of “greenhouse gas” emissions.
If all the fly ash generated each year were used in producing concrete, the reduction
of carbon dioxide released because of decreased cement production would be
equivalent to eliminating 25 percent of the world’s vehicles.
Better performance without increase in cost.
Division 04—Masonry

though some manufacturers have in excess of 90% recycled content
Steel studs are recyclable at the end of the building’s life.
Division 06—Wood, Plastics, and Composites
ECOSURFACES
FACTS
•
•
•
•
Americans disposing of over 245,000,000 tires every year. Through the
Xtreme Recycled Rubber program, ECOsurfaces offers designers a fresh
new way to create attractive environments using Earth Friendly materials by
using recycled tires.
As strong and resilient as the originaltire rubber.
Slip-resistant
Weather resistant withstanding extreme temperatures.
RECLAIMED WOOD
FACTS
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
It is estimated that reclaiming one million board feet of lumber preserves
one thousand acres of old growth forest.
reclaimed wood would be chipped, burned or otherwise wasted if not
reused.
Old growth forests are protected in both local and global communities.
It is durable and aesthetically pleasing.
The wood has stabilized over time, preventing changes due to humidity, etc.
Gives uniqueness to the design.
Preserves history.
ENGINEERED WOOD
Gluelam - glued, laminated timber
FACTS
•
•
•
Gluelam: glued, laminated timber
Engineered lumber products provide a significant environmental advantage
over solid wood by utilizing fast-growing, small diameter trees effectively.
Superior strength of glulam allows for longer clear floor spans than solidsawn lumber
PLASTIC LUMBER
FACTS
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Plastic waste occupies about 25% of overall landfill space in the U.S.
Plastic lumber makes good use of recycled plastic and is an effective
replacement for pressure-treated lumber, protecting timber resources.
Won’t rot, absorb water, splinter, or crack and is resistant to shock.
Can accept most types of fasteners
Resistant to oil, salt, and chemicals
Long lasting
Easy installation

CONCRETE ROOF TILES
FACTS
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Is made from an approximate mix of 3 parts sand to 1 part cement and 10%
water.
Limited maintenance roofing product
Products have passed all tests related to break strength and permeability.
Freeze/Thaw and U.V. Protection
Fire safe
Energy-conscious roofing product
Concrete tiles are wind resistant. The material is wind tunnel tested to
withstand winds up to 125 miles per hour.
Concrete tiles can last 100 years.
It is not made with petroleum-based products
Cool Roofing: Cold
Applied Built-Up Roofing
FACTS
•
•
•
•
•
•
Tremco’s roofing products and systems can assist building in obtaining LEED
certification by contributing to the following areas:
Heat Island Effect: Roof—provides high solar reflectance and high thermal emittance.
Recycled Content—Tremco roofing products contain recycled content.
Renewable Energy—Tremco offers Photovoltaic Roofing solutions.
Additional points may be obtained through the use of regionally manufactured
materials and by using innovative design practices.
Other benefits include: reduces fumes and pollution, environmentally friendly,
eliminates danger of fire and smoke pollution, better for use on occupied buildings,
excellent thermal movement performance, improved resistance to abuse, longer life
Division 08—Openings
GreenScreen PVC-free Fabrics
FACTS
•
•
•
•
•
•
PVC-free construction of polyurethane and specially designed, prestretched polyester core.
5 different openness factors: blackout, 3%, 5%, 10%, and 25%.
Elimination of PVC content in production of GreenScreen fabrics means
shades contain no VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) and does not
“offgas” during the life of the product.
PVC-free content makes it easier and quicker to recycle GreenScreen
fabrics and divert them from landfills.
Optional metallized finish increases solar reflection by an avg. of 5% and
reduces visible light transmission ( glare) by 3%.
Metallization reduces solar gain versus an unshaded window by up to 70%
Division 09—Finishes
Marmoleum Flooring
FACTS
•
•
•
•
Raw materials and energy are used efficiently, waste is recycled wherever
possible, and emissions are kept to an absolute minimum.
Life-cycle analysis shows that these linoleum products are the ecologically
preferred floor covering.
Linoleum is produced from renewable materials: linseed oil, wood flour, jute
and ecologically responsible pigments.
Marmoleum is a natural organic product, its performance is enhanced by
time, as exposure to air serves to harden and increase its durability.

String Ribbon
FACTS
•
•
•
•
String Ribbon combines the best attributes of conventional crystalline silicon
and emerging thin films.
It achieves the reliability, stability, high efficiency, and market acceptance of
crystalline silicon
In the String Ribbon technique, two high temperature strings are pulled
vertically through a shallow silicon melt, and the molten silicon spans and
freezes between the strings (see diagram).
This advantage in material efficiency means String Ribbon yields over twice
as many solar cells per pound of silicon as conventional methods.
