Materials You Need
A calculator
 Carbon Rod/Copper Rod
 Aluminum Foil
 Small Cylindrical Container
 Two 3 Inch Wire
 Multi Purpose Pliers
 Glue Gun


Drill a hole on the
bottom side of the
small cylinder

Glue a carbon rod in
place
 His acts as a positive
rod

Glue foil in place as a
negative plate

Connect the wire of the
battery
 Positive connected to the
carbon rod
 Negative connected to the foil

Connect the water battery
to the calculator after it is
apart
 Put this in place of the solar
panel
Put the calculator back
together
 Fill with water and enjoy!

How Does it Work?

Two different metals have an electronegativity
difference
 Immerse these metals in fluid with free floating ions
 Ions will be attracted to one metal electrode causing
a potential difference

Creates a very tiny amount of energy
 Electricity produced by difference in electrode
potentials

Water is good, Salt Water is better, Vinegar is
best
 More electrolytes = bueno!
