Passive voice in Spanish
Passive voice is always made with the same pattern.
Ser + past participle
If you look at the examples, ser is the first part of the
passive voice structure followed by a past participle
in English.

The past participle will be important in future lessons covering the perfect
tenses. To form the past participle, simply drop the infinitive ending (-ar, -er, -ir)
and add -ado (for -ar verbs) or -ido (for -er, -ir verbs).

Pintar _ pintado

Actuar – actuado

Esculpir- esculpido

Leer- leído

The following common verbs have irregular past participles:

Abrir –abierto

Cubrir- cubierto
hacer-hecho

Decir-dicho
poner- puesto

Ver-visto
escribir-escrito
componer- compuesto
Past passive voice
The pattern is the same as present passive voice.
Ser + past participle
The only difference is instead of conjugating ser in
the present tense, it is now in the preterite tense.
Ser (preterite tense) + past participle
Look at the passive examples.
