With the ever-changing environment of information communication, the digitalization of leisure, recreation, resorts, and tourism has proceeded remarkably. The wide use of information communication devices and social network services is becoming established in various aspects of tourism with a great impact, and such devices and services have become a key to the tourist industry. The Social Situation of the mid-21st Century ● The Earth Population is almost 10 Billion (Developing Countries over 85%) ● Super Aging Society in Developed Countries (Especially Asian countries: Japan, Korea, China) ● Developing Countries are Shortage of Resources (Foods, Water, Energy…) ● Smart Tourism is Demanded in the Super Aging Sociey. (Smart Tourism should be Intellectual or/and Universal) Concept of Smart Tourism Smart tourism does not simply refer to the behavioral system of u sing a personal computer to retrieve information about locations to visit, transportation to the locations, hotels, local foods, and souvenirs, stimulating the visitors’ purchasing interests, and purchasing various travel-related items introduced by travel agencies. Smart tourism is a form of tourism combining a real society with a virtual reality space produced by digital devices. It is a system that smoothly combines the societies on the front and back sides of the mirror, as described a bove. Here, the mirror does not represent digital devices that function as terminals.
