We are specialized in PC based systems working non-stop in dirty, wet, cold or hot environment. • We focus on fanless (low power) singleboard computers compatible to the x86 family that may be equipped with bootable non-rotating memory, membrane keyboard or touchscreen, LC-Display and a tight housing to operate in a rough surrounding. • Founded in 1980 MASS delivered > 50.000 IPC systems to customers all over the world. May 2011 5 The Company • The MASS-Team consists of project engineers with specialized experience in construction, configuration and programming of PLCs and computers, CAD-layout, electronic and mechanical engineering, implementation of systems and production technology. • All components that we are unable to produce at competitive prices will be outsourced. That way we focus on our main competence which is system integration. May 2011 6 The Company Our corporate offices is located in Niederdorfelden, just 12km outside of Frankfurt/Main and abuting to Bad Vilbel. They contain space of 500 m². Along with the administration and functions this location also houses the sales, research & design, production, testing, servicing and shipping departments. May 2011 7 The Company < Our production plant consists of four assembly lines and some workbenches for prototypes and repair. There is still some expandability left for future production enlargements. The production is supported by our PPS system supplying all component drawings, wiring plans and test routines of the R&D- and PP departments. > May 2011 8 The Company Designers and quality management work in a close cooperation with the production personel: CAD designs of mechanics and PCB-boards as well as component lists, test routines and software programs are available by LAN. May 2011 9 Company History Technical features • Founded in January 1980 by Werner J. Dabberdt (Sales Engineer of PLC products). Until today he is CEO and he also holds 100% of the company shares. • Start-up activities: planning, programming, and production of PLC-based industrial automation systems made by major suppliers. Providing after-sales service. • In 1983 the first low cost PC (Commodore VC20) was equipped with a bootable E-Prom memory developed by MASS. This system was designed to enlarge PLCs with calculation-, communication- and mass storage power. May 2011 10 Company History Technical features • 1988 MASS was a co-founder of the ISA96-bus architecture (IBM compatible PC boards in 3U Euro format with 96-pin VG connector). The first fanless IPC was delivered. (Our series CE 2000) • Each year since then MASS presented a new generation of CMOS low power x86-processor boards added by many I/O- and peripheral functions. • Since 1993 monitors were substituted by EL- and color LCdisplays. MASS introduced the first remote control panel. • 1995-96 PC/104- and CPCI boards were implemented in 19“/3U racks to complete single height Euroboard systems. May 2011 11 Company History Technical features • 1996 MASS integrated 5 ¼ “ format singleboard computers together with LC displays and several I/Os in a flat panel system: the start of our CE3000 family. • 1997 a daylight capable LCD was implemented in an outdoor system. • 1999 we focussed on embedded computers and designed some IPCs for mobile applications. • 2000 - 2001 our first generation of CAR-PC was designed for the Opel-Omega. • 2003 MASS designed an ETX baseboard in Euroformat in order to replace single-height Euroboard CPUs. May2011 12 Company History Technical features • 2004 MFR the 2. generation of our CAR-PC was developed containing Celeron M 600MHz CPU, WLAN, GPS interface and a separate display unit with dimmable and heated LCD. • 2005 the new series SAC (stand-alone-computer) and PPC (Panel PCs) contained 8,4“, 12“ and 15“ LCDs enlarging our series CE 3000. • 2006 Enlargement of the SAC series by 19, 32 and 42“ LCDs. A blackbox PC behind the LCD contained the first available core Duo/core2duo™ CPUs. (Digital Signage). • 2007 we put the 3. generation of our CAR-PC into the market containing a small blackbox CPU with remote 8,4“/12,1“ LCDs and a vandalize-proof touchscreen. May 2011 13 Company History Technical features • 2008 MFR2, the next CAR-PC contained Intels Atom N270 with 1,6GHz, 2GByte RAM, WLAN + GPS interfaces in a new blackbox. Additional features: 8GByte CF, Gigabit Ethernet and a sensor controlled heater for the display. • 2009 Our new compact Car PC MFR/K contained an 8,4“ LCD together with the PC unit and a resistive glasstouchscreen in an all-in-one box. • 2010 The new 8,4“ and 12“ LED-LCDs will be implemented in our All-in-one PC series SAC. • 2010 MASS is on the way to achieve the certification of DIN ISO 9001:2008.
