Market shares in distribution calculated as ratio of energy distributed including network losses vs. electricity demand. (1) Market share calculated based on the SIC data (Sistema Interconectado Central), corresponding to the 70% of the Chilean market (2) Market Iberia including SEIE (Regimen Ordinario + Regimen Especial) 3 Enel’s Automatic Meter Management: “Telegestore” 32 million customers in Italy Telegestore is fully operational on 32,5 Mln Customers Leading Technology Excellence in operation Smart Infrastructure Tailored Tariffs Meters installed at customer's premises provide real-time access to the supply data Meters transmit data regarding consumptions, receive updates of the contractual parameters and remotely manage the supply connectivity. Enabling a new hourlybased tariff system, flexible and adaptable to the various needs Customers free to select supply contract tailored on their needs and consenting a cost saving. No interventions on-site are needed. Involving customers by enabling participation while guarantying high quality of service 4 Benefits A win-win technology FOR CUSTOMERS and other electrical system operators INVOICES ON REAL CONSUMPTION REMOTE CONTRACT MANAGEMENT TAILORED TARIFFS SAVINGS IN BILLING PRE PAYMENT EASIER FREE MARKET DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT FOR THE ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEM PEAK SHAVING ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CO2 REDUCTION REDUCTION OF COMMERCIAL AND TECHNICAL LOSSES FOR ENEL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION EXCELLENCE IN COMMERCIAL AND TECHNICAL QUALITY OPERATING COST SAVINGS LEADERSHIP IN INNOVATION 5 Results achieved Enel Operational Excellence 2001 (128 min ; 80 €/Customer) 80 2002 80 2003 2004 Opex (€/customer) 60 2005 2006 60 European Benchmark 2007 2008 2009 2010 (45 min ; 49 €/Customer) 40 130 80 Quality of service (minutes interruption/year) 40 30 6 6 International development Expansion worldwide Deployment completed/on going Russia Belgorod Pilot on going Potential China Shangai Honk Kong Netherlands Oxxio 0,2 Mln LATAM Endesa Romania Enel Iberia Endesa 13 Mln EON 0.8 Mln EDP Hidrocantabrico Italy Enel 32 Mln Other 4 Mln Malta Enemalta 0,25 Mln With 50 Mln meters Enel is contributing with the 25% to the overall European target 7 Pilot Projects in Brazil Enel “model” digital meters in the area of Fortaleza Enel, with Endesa, is developing a pilot remote management project in Brazil, using the same metering technology that Endesa is installing in Spain. The pilot project will be implemented through Coelce, Endesa's electricity distribution subsidiary operating in the State of Cearà, Brazil. The pilot project was launched in Fortaleza through the installation of meters of the model developed by Enel Distribuzione. The project also envisages the installation of concentrators for the data collected by meters in transformer stations and training days for the technicians of local Enel Group distribution companies. Brazil is the first country in Latin America to begin developing a regulatory framework for remote management. 8 Smart Grids: vision and benefits Multi-directional ‘flows’ management Storage and Plug & Play technologies End user real time information and participation Electric Vehicle Central and distributed Intelligence Central and distributed resources integration LED Public Lighting Smart equipments and power electronics 9 Smart Grids Roadmap Enel SMART GRIDS FULL ROLL-OUT Level of implementation Smart Grids 20-20-20 Level 5: Smart Customers Customers become aware and participate actively SMART GRIDS Functional levels EUROPEAN ELECTRICITY GRID INITIATIVE Management of end-use energy efficiency, aggregation, retail Level 3: Smart Integration Renewable energy, DG, electric vehicles, electricity storage and aggregation Distribution Network Level 2: Smart Distribution network and processes More automated medium voltage distribution networks with self healing capabilities.
