Background
Idea for a Skills Competition at ASEAN
regional skills competition originated
from the ILO/APSDEP program in 1993
The first skills competition was held in
1995
The 9th ASEAN Skills Competition was
held in Jakarta, Indonesia

Background
For Tourism Skill Areas, we have
dispatched our two competitors for
cooking and restaurant service skill
areas
One of the two competitors from PSE
has won the Medallion of Excellence
It is the second time for Cambodia to
join tourism skill areas competition for
this ASEAN Skills Competition 2014

Background
Objectives
-Promote the development of tourism professional training quality
and tourism work values among the youth and tourism
professionals;
-Foster technical cooperation in tourism professional training
amongst tourism stakeholders;
-Encourage close cooperation in tourism between public-privatepeople and partnership (4Ps)
- Step towards recognizing tourism professional excellence and
develop new generation of tourism professionals to reach the quality
at the regional and international levels.

23 Skill Areas to be competed for ASC 2014 including
Welding, IT Software Solution for Business, Wall &
Floor Tilling, Plumbing and Heating, Electronics, Web
Design, Electrical Installations, Bricklaying, Cabinet
Making, Joinery, Fashion Technology, Automobile
Technology, Restaurant Service, Cook, Mechatronics,
Mechanical Engineering Design CAD, Graphic Design
Technology, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, IT
Network System Administration, Beauty Therapy, Hair
Dressing, Industrial Automation, IT Network Cabling

Competitors must be less than 22 years old and
never joined ASEAN Skills and World Skills
Competition
For Cambodia, the Ministry of Labor and
Vocational Training would send 10 Competitors for 6
Skill Areas including ​ Bricklaying, Electrical
Installations, Welding, Mechatronics, Industrial
Automation, IT Software Solution for Business.
And the Ministry of Tourism shall send two
competitors for cooking and restaurant service skill
areas

Registration
Registration of Competitors, Experts, Observers and guests takes
place in three stages:
1- Provisional registration
Approximately two (02) months before the competition.
2- Indicative registration
Checked and updated at least (01) months before the competition.
3- Definitive registration
Confirmed approximately 20 days before the competition.
