What is Closed IP?
Closed IP is an innovative new class of products
introduced by Dedicated Micros using Automatic discovery
and addressing protocols
As each IP camera is discovered and identified as a device
supported in the Closed IP system, the unit is
automatically assigned through a deterministic process
that loads the specific profile of the connected device into
the channel (port) for which the device was physically
connected
The Dedicated Micros Auto discovery process utilized a
mainstream Auto-discovery, Auto-configuration nonroutable networking standard utilized by Apple, Microsoft,
Linux, etc (RFC 3927)

The key of the Closed IP system is the Dedicated Micros
Enhanced layer 2/3 network switch
a) As a standalone switch using the EcoSense NVR or the
EcoSense NVR POE – this provides a simple plug n play
solution for Dedicated Micros IP cameras with deterministic
allocation of IP addresses to IP cameras using up to 16 network
ports (10/100 BaseT) with optionsal PoE SKU
b) Using either the Netswitch or Netswitch PoE for use with the SD
Advanced hybrid DVR which is capable of using seamless
integration of analog, IP and megapixel cameras using up to 32
ports in any combination and having Real Time recording on all
cameras
