• FLAVIUS VALERIUS CONSTANTINUS,
later great Roman Emperor, the
protector of Christianity, a great
warrior and statesman, was born in
Niš.
• Constantine the Great issued Milan
Edict in 313 and gave to Christianity
the equal status with the other Roman
Empire religions.
• The intention of City authorities is
to celebrate 1700 years of the
proclamation of Christianity as a
religion in 2013, together with City of
Milano (ITA), City of Trier (GER) and
City of York (GBR) and revive the first
Christian Emperor, Constantine the
Great.

ROAD TO BRUSSELS
In June 2011, Nis City Representative Office
was opened officially with the objective to
enhance Nis City capacities for EU funds
absorption, striving specifically to improve the
image of the city in Brussels and in the
institutions located in Brussels.
Project is financed by City of Nis with logistic
support of Association of Local Agency for
Democracy – ALDA.
We want to participate actively with our
presence and our efforts in the process of
bringing Serbia closer to EU and we want to
raise total competitiveness of Serbia. Also, we
want to follow European and regional trends.
