Identifying Boeing Topics of Interest
Enterprise SBIR Program Initiative
 When SBIR solicitations are released Boeing researchers and
technologists are asked to identify topics of interest
 DoD, NASA, NSF, DHS, DOE
 List of interests are compiled and distributed to small businesses
 Small businesses can then contact Boeing personnel to discuss
interest and potential letter of interest, etc
 Participate in one-on-one discussions at national conferences
 Refer small businesses to appropriate Boeing personnel
 Provide list of companies interviewed to Boeing researchers and
programs

 Know the company that you are going to market to, know
what they do
 So - that you can sell your company and what you do!
 Determine who to contact – Small Business Office,
Purchasing/Contracts, Engineering, etc
 At what level – corporate, business unit, program, site
 Be Persistent, Follow up
 Obtain letters of interest, quotes when appropriate
 Agree upon Non Disclosure Agreement early in process
 Customer, Prime Contractor, Company partnership
