Opportunities for IT Start Ups • There are Support and Grant Mechanisms mainly from TÜBİTAK (Turkish Scientific and Research Council), Turkish Ministry of Science - Industry and Technology, KOSGEB (Turkish Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization). • There are also Angel Investors and Venture Capital Firms and Funds Supporting StartUps. TÜBİTAK 1512 - Support Program in Stages for Individual Entrepreneurs Who can apply? Graduated from a university No share in any company TÜBİTAK 1512 Program 1. Phase From Idea to Business Plan If the business idea is found to be positive by TÜBİTAK, support will be given. Support is in the form of Entrepreneurship Traning & Business Mentoring to prepare the Business Plan. TÜBİTAK 1512 Program 2. Phase Incorporation and Technological Verification (Capital support) if the application has been found succesful after the evalution of business plan , Capital support will be given to the Entrepreneur. Ministry of Science Industry and Technology - Techno Entrepreneurship Program Who can apply: Any student who will gradute in one year and any university graduate with no company share. Support : 100.000 TL (Full Grant) Support Duration : 12 months KOSGEB – Entrepreneur Support Program Entrepreneurship Support Programme comprises of 3 Subprogrammes: • Applied Entrepreneurship Training • New Entrepreneur Support • Business Improvement Centre (BIC) Support KOSGEB – Entrepreneur Support Program Applied Entrepreneurship Training • It includes training and workshop studies of minimum 60 hours (entrepreneurship abilities testings, business idea exercises and business plan preparation) • Trainings are arranged for general and specific (youngs, women, disadvantageous groups) target groups, • No charge from participants. Bilkent TTO • Bilkent University Technology Transfer Office (Bilkent TTO) was established on October 1st 2013 within the university. • Within the call of TÜBİTAK 1513 - Technology Transfer Office Support Program in 2013, applications from 36 universities were submitted. 10 universities including Bilkent University was awarded with the grant started at January 1st 2014. • Bilkent TTO is a unit under Provost Office. Provost of the University is the Vice Rector who is in charge of Academic Affairs.
