No common glossary or data dictionary. • No real data integration – specifications are separate “silos”. No global / transversal view. Different product structures. • Parallel evolution of different specifications, without coordination / configuration (“mixability” of specification versions?) • Computational problems not considered (e.g, required parsing of applicability) • Implementation costs of the specifications, cost of evolution • Interfaces between specifications are bilateral – “explosion” of interfaces, circular relationships and coherence problem (e.g., S1003X+S1002X=S2003X?). Slide 3 27th June 2011 Main issues on ILS Suite of Specifications (2/2) • No common data exchange mechanisms. • Exchange not part of the suite of specifications. • Exchange of data of a SAME specification (e.g., between supplier & prime contractor) unclear, except for S2000M. • Formal relationship with OASIS – Are the A&D DEXes formally endorsed by AIA/ASD? How is the evolution of these DEXes controlled? By whom? • DEX implementation guidelines (e.g., for SOA) not established globally. • No specification/cross-specification Implementor forums • Civil/military convergence? (currently only used massively for S1000D) • Use of ILS in civilian programs • Need for specific annexes (e.g., domain-specific)? • Standard integrated data delivery format (e.g., for maintenance systems)? • Relationship with ATA beyond S1000D? (e.g., S4000M, Spec2000) Slide 4 27th June 2011 Gaps in the ILS Suite - Configuration of ILS products - Operations - Use of 3D (Technical publications, training, maintenance…) - Orchestration of services Slide 5 27th June 2011 Design the Product Support Equipment OPERATOR Support Operation •Design AGE •Design Training Devices •Develop Operational Documentation •Design Crew Courses •Design Maintenance Courses •Design Maintenance Support Support Maintenance Customer Support •Develop Maintenance Documentation •Prepare Material Support Mission & Operation of Services •Develop Documentation •Develop Slide Processes 6 •AGE •ATE •GSE •CBT •FFS •MST Group 1 Logistic Support Analysis •Operations Manual Checklist •MMEL •Courses •Manuals •Courses •Manuals •FSR •SB (Upgrades) •MRO •AMM •CMM •WDM •IPC •IPL •Repair Services •Develop Material Documentation •Develop Services Level Agreements Group 2 Support Equipments & Simulators Support to Product Design •Analyze Results •Maintenability •Reliability •Testability •Maint.
