The Rector Rep. no. 4050/2014 Prot. no. 53038 Date 17/11/2014 Title III Class 2 UOR SDSMI SELECTION NOTICE A competition has been announced for the selection of 32 students who will participate in the Advanced School of Architecture of the Politecnico di Milano. The Advanced School of Architecture (ASA) is an "additional" training programme that runs parallel to the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) programmes and sets out to strengthen and develop the role of the architect-designer through projects that introduce students to the complexities currently facing various European and nonEuropean countries. The competition is open to all Politecnico di Milano students duly enrolled for the a.y. 2014/15 in: - the first year of a Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) programme at the School of Architecture and Society, the School of Civil Architecture, the School of Design, the School of Civil, Environmental and Land Management Engineering and the School of Building and Architectural Engineering; - the fourth year of the Laurea Magistrale a ciclo unico (5-year single-cycle programme) at the School of Building and Architectural Engineering who, by the competition deadline, have duly earned at least 160 credits useful for graduating. Candidates must submit an application by printing and completing the form available on the website: http://www.polimi.it/corsi/percorsi-di-alta-formazione/asa-advanced-school-ofarchitecture/. The application must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name of the competition (Selection of students for the Advanced School of Architecture a.y. 2014/15) and hand delivered to Servizio Posta Protocollo ed Archivio del Politecnico di Milano – Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, 32 – 20133 Milano, no later than 15:00 on 05 December 2014. 1 Applications should be accompanied by the following documents, written in English: 1.Curriculum vitae; 2.Letter of motivation (or statement of purpose). The selection will be made by the Scientific Committee of the Advanced School of Architecture, which will assess both the documents submitted by the candidates and the qualification obtained at the previous level of studies, as well as their training. To this end, students with an Italian first-level degree not obtained at the Politecnico di Milano are required to attach the self-certification form available at the above link (qualification, grade, average score, subjects in the Study Plan). Only students deemed suitable will be called for the interview comprising the second part of the selection process. The list of students admitted to the interview and the relating schedule will be published on the above page by Monday, 12 January 2015. If a candidate does not turn up on the day scheduled for the interview, he/she will automatically be excluded from the selection process.
