In this school there are over 700 students aged between 6 and 14 and we can say that is one of the best schools in the city due to the excellent results obtained in the Romanian, English, History, Physics, Math and Religious Education school competitions and olympiads. . All the students feel like they belong to a small family and they are carefully guided by our hardworking and loving teachers. The Palace of the Parliament ( Palatul Parlamentului ) Began in 1983 and finished in 1993, The Romanian Palace of the Parliament is one of the most impressive buildings in Romania. Designed by the Romanian architect Anca Petrescu, the huge building is situated in the centre of Bucharest, representing the Romanian legislative authority. It is divided into The Chamber of the Representatives ( Camera Deputaților ) and The Senate ( Senatul României ). The House of the Parliament air- view The Romanian Athenaeum The Romanian Athenaeum ( Ateneul Român ) is a concert hall situated in the centre of Bucharest and also a landmark of the Romanian capital city. Opened in 1888, the ornated, domed, circular building became the home of the “George Enescu” Philharmonic and of the George Enescu annual international music festival. The Village Museum This museum is situated in the centre of the Romanian capital city and it gathers an impressive collection of traditional houses, pottery and interior decorations from all over the country. Although she currently lives in the USA she is involved in several social projects in Romania. Traditions •Martișor (Lucky charm) Martișor Martișor is an old Romanian celebration at the beginning of spring, on March the 1st. The red and white string is a decoration that boys give to girls. Giving this talisman to girls is an old custom, and it is believed that the one who wears the red and white string will be strong and healthy for the year to come. It is located in Transylvania and it is known for its towers and medieval buildings. BRAȘOV • Brașov is located almost in the centre of the country and surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains. • The city provides a mix of wonderful mountain scenary in the nearby Poiana Brașov resort and medieval history with German influence in the old town. • The main tourist attraction around Brașov is the Bran Castle also called Dracula’s Castle. SIBIU • Sibiu is a very important city from the cultural point of view because there are a lot of tourist attractions here, such as the Bruckental Castle, the Catolic Church and the Bridge of Lies. Orsova • This is a port city on the Danube river. It is situated near the Iron Gates. The Scărișoara Cave The Scărișoara cave is one of the biggest ice caves in Romania. It is located in the Carpathian Mountains. The Peleș Castle The Peleș Castle used to be the Romanian Royalty’s summer residence and retreat. It was built in the year 1873 by Carol I, King of Romania.
