Individual Professional Development Plan • Request by teachers and administrators serving on the Oversight Committee and IPDP sub committee to continue to clarify the rubric and provide training that will help with consistency across the district • Changes have been made to the rubric • Training to be provided during school-based inservice • Goal of the training • Understanding of the changes • Explain the IPDP process • Provide opportunities for rating collaboration IPDP FYI • SB1664 one word “Require” to “May” • However – Race to the Top agreement states that the IPDP will be a metric in our “multi-metric system” – State Board of Education Protocol Standards for Professional Development include IPDP requirements • DOEs ultimate goal is to revise policies so that goals can be achieved in a variety of ways (IPDP or PLC process, for example) • IPDPs will still be completed for the 13/14 school year FYI: More about SB1664 Classroom teachers • For the 13/14 School Year, student growth can only be applied based on students served • No School VAM for Classroom Teachers for 13/14 • Can Use• Direct Measurements (FCAT, Alg I, FAA, IB, AICE, AP, Dual Enrollment, Brigance, Industry Certification, SAT 10, PERT) • Indirect Measurements (FCAT Reading VAM based on students who took FCAT but not in an FCAT course, i.e. science) Non-classroom teachers • Can use School VAM for Student Growth New Assessment Additions K-2 • SAT 10 (Common Core Aligned) • Direct Measurement of Reading • Post Test planned for the end of May • All students enrolled during testing window will test 3rd Grade • FCAT • Direct Measurement of Reading Math for College Readiness (MCR) and English IV: Florida College Prep • PERT • Direct Measurement • Indirect Measurement of Reading where applicable Oversight Committee will meet in September and more information will be forthcoming Pause • Take a moment to discuss the new assessments, if they apply to you or your school. • What questions and concerns do you have?
