"Research shows that a positive school climate directly impacts telling indicators for success such as higher student achievement, lower dropout rates, decreased incidences of violence, and increased teacher retention." -National School Climate Center What is the goal? BY 2016, THERE WILL BE AT LEAST A 16% INCREASE IN “AN ATMOSPHERE OF TRUST AND MUTUAL RESPECT” AT PHILLIPS HIGH SCHOOL: FROM 59% TO AT LEAST 75% AS MEASURED BY THE IN-HOUSE WORKING CONDITIONS SURVEY. Key Process Improve communication among support staff, teachers and parents and increase morale within the school community. Measurable Process Checks 1. The School Climate Committee will develop and implement a communication program that will disseminate timely and effective information to all stakeholders (parents, students, administrators, staff and teachers) that will be monitored on a weekly basis through the website/blog. The effectiveness of the program(s) will be measured every 9 weeks through the committee’s approved measurement process. 2. The School Climate Committee will develop and implement a plan to improve morale among all faculty and staff which will be measured every 9 weeks through the committee’s approved measurement process.
