A Note from
Our Principal Mrs. Magnusson
Dear Parents,
April is a busy month at Blessed Sacrament. We had a wonderful time
at our Fashion Show. The committee did a wonderful job with
planning and presenting this event .We congratulate our second
graders as they are receiving their First Communion. This is a
special day for them, their families and us. State tests are being
administered to grades 4,6, and 8 in ELA and Math. While these
tests are challenging, we encourage them to do their best and not to
be anxious about them. We will be the scoring site for these tests for
the Parochial Schools on Staten Island.

In a short time, our 8th graders will be graduating. We are very proud
of them as they are hearing from their schools about scholarships and
acceptances. To date, we have learned about the following
scholarships:
Lucy Primiano Full to Moore and acceptance to Tech.
Rose O’Neill full to Hill and Sea and acceptance to Tech.
Brendan Mackey Emerald Society
Daniel Heaney half from Peters
Mary DiSpirito partial to Notre Dame

A Message from our President
Happy spring! I can't believe it's April already! The year has really flown by.
I hope everyone had a blessed Easter and a wonderful spring break!
I would like to thank the Fashion Show chair ladies for another fabulous
event. Our children did a fabulous job as did the moms! We also had
some grandmothers, aunts and grads model as well!
Everyone looked beautiful. Thanks to Jen Allen, Kim Bellotti, Linda
Travers, Jodi Sullivan, Wendy Sercia, Lisa Bifalco and Joanne Rubano
for all their hard work!
We have an exciting new event coming up in June,
our first Chinese Auction! Flyers have been sent home in the backpacks.
I hope all can attend!

April 2013 Meeting
This month’s meeting will be on Monday, April 22nd at
7:30pm. Class Mother’s meeting is at 7:00 pm. So
please join us on this night not only for information
about our children’s education, but also to receive
spiritual hope from one another, and to get the heart
facts we all should know. We hope to see all of you
there.
Meeting Set Up
2nd Grade Mother’s are asked to setup/clean
up for April’s Meeting. (Participation in this is a
requirement if you wish to serve as a future class
mother). Please arrive no later than 7:00pm.

Mother’s Guild Dues
Mother’s Guild Dues remains at $10.00.
Dues can be paid at the April Meeting. Please
see Helene Maiello. You may also send it
through
school with your child. Please mark the envelope
with your child’s/children’s names and grade and your payment so
it can be properly recorded.

Julie Acquafredda & Dawn Minogue will be collecting for our 50/50 at every
meeting.
Campbell’s Soup Labels and Box Tops For Education
Labels and box tops can be sent through school to the Mother’s Guild
Mailbox. Please mark the envelope “Campbell’s Soup Labels” or “Box
Tops”. There are also collection boxes in the back of the church.
S.I. Federation of Catholic Schools
The Chairladies for the Federation are Karen Peterson & Judy
Trimarchi.
Dine out Night
The Chairlady for Dine Out Night is Isabel Marani.
The more people that come out to support this event, the more money
our school receives. The neighborhood restaurants that host this event
are very generous to our school during all of our fundraising events. It
would be a great way to show our appreciation to them by attending
this monthly event, and at the same time supporting our school.
CELEBRATORY BOOSTERS
For $2.00 a booster you can have something to celebrate printed in
our upcoming newsletter. Send it into school in an envelope marked
‘Celebratory Boosters’ along with $2.00 and your message and we
will be sure to include it in the Newsletter.
