There has probably never been a tougher time to be a parent, which is why there's never been a better time to choose St. Augustine Catholic School. "Community is at the heart of all Catholic education, not simply as a concept to be taught, but as a reality to be lived . . . Your students will learn to understand and appreciate the value of community as they experience love, trust, and loyalty in your school and educational programs, and as they learn to trust all persons as brothers and sisters created by God and redeemed by Christ." Pope John Paul II When parents choose a Catholic School for their children, it sets their children apart as a family so committed to their children's education that they are ready to make extraordinary sacrifices. Parents, by making the sacrifice necessary to send their children to Catholic school, show them education is a high priority. Catholic schools provide a loving, loyal environment where the entire community of parents, teachers, students, and parish is committed to academic and personal success. 2012-2013 FINANCIALS St. Augustine School Income Budget 2012/2013 $350,000.00 $300,000.00 $250,000.00 $200,000.00 $150,000.00 $100,000.00 $50,000.00 $0.00 TRANSFERS Transfers from other sources 2012/2013 $140,000.00 $120,000.00 $100,000.00 $80,000.00 $60,000.00 $40,000.00 $20,000.00 $0.00 2013-2014 St. Augustine School Income Budget 2013/2014 $400,000.00 $350,000.00 $300,000.00 $250,000.00 $200,000.00 $150,000.00 $100,000.00 $50,000.00 $0.00 2013-2014 TRANSFERS Transfer from other sources 2013/2014 $120,000.00 $100,000.00 $80,000.00 $60,000.00 $40,000.00 $20,000.00 $0.00 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 Budget Comparisons INCOME: 2012/2013 2013/2014 Tuition & Fees 330,733 340,408 Rental Income 25,200 31,000 Annual Fund 20,000 After School Fees 16,000 16,800 Auxiliary & Program 59,048 33,595 Transfers 295,200 376,109 TOTAL INCOME: 746,181 797,912 TRANSFERS: Parish subsidy 2012/2013 - 2013/2014 110,000 112,000 26,500 30,500 1,200 1,200 Gifts from God-Interest 12,500 5,000 Gifts from God-Principal 120,000 87,000 25,000 50,000 - 90,409 295,200 376,109 Fall Social Boosters PTO & Scrip Freewill donations TOTAL TRANSFERS FINANCIAL SUPPORT NEEDED FOR EACH CHILD 2013-2014 school year 167 children enrolled Actual cost per child for 2013-2014 Less Tuition & fees one child $4,778 ($2,150) $2,628 Less Parish Subsidy per child ($660) $1,968 Less Fall Social, PTO, Scrip ($220) $1,748 Less Gifts from God Prin. & Inter. STEPPING STONE TO SUCCESS #2 FAITHFUL STEWARDSHIP: TIME & TALENT Turkey Social: Volunteer at the social…. OR …… donate $100. Choose AT LEAST THREE activities to support our school ministry. Room Parent, Book Fair, PTO committee member, Scrip Card Sales, etc. YOU ARE ST. A.!!! You are needed and wanted. STEPPING STONE TO SUCCESS #3 FAITHFUL STEWARDSHIP: TREASURE “Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap.” Tithing and free will donations help all our ministries, including our school ministry. Plan to give generously. Median Marion Co. income = $37,488 5% gift to parish = $1,800.00 5% gift to other charities = $1,800.00 WHAT IF WE ALL GAVE LIKE THAT? St. Augustine has approximately 1000 registered households. $1,800 annual tithe at the median household income X 1000 households registered in the parish = 1.8 million dollars in tithing at 5%. (our 2013-2014 budget anticipates $560,000 in tithing) What is my potential for free will donations in support of the school ministry? ADDITIONAL REVENUE SOURCES Scrip Cards – a “no brainer” Use and re-use those Scrip Cards for groceries and gas. REVENUE POTENTIAL Groceries & Gas = $100/week X 52 weeks = $5,200 @ 4% back to the parish = $208 100 households =$20,800 500 households =$104,000 REVENUE REALITY 2012-2013 fiscal year: $8,583.00 What is my potential for school ministry revenue through Scrip Cards?????
