• The population of Karachi was 0.3 Million in 1947.
• After independence, due to high influx of migrants
from India and other parts of the country, the City’s
population increased exponentially. The average
annual population growth rate in Karachi is 4.15%.
• The KSDP Plan 2020 indicates the population of Karachi
15.2 Million in 2005 and projected population in 2020
as 27.5 Million.
