Proposed Redevelopment of DTC Depot-IP Estate,
Indraprastha Power Station and Vikas Bhawan
Project Background
• Govt has decided to decommission IP Power Station & has earmarked 15
acres from this to the DTC – but the land with Power Dept as of now.
• DTC will continue to have 3 acres of land on the western side of the Ring
Road, ie the DTC Depot site, even after the East West Corridor.
• Vikas Bhavan complex (with PWD) of 6 acres was developed in 1970s and is
worn out from insides.
THERE IS ADMITTED SHORTAGE OF GOVT OFFICE SPACE IN THIS AREA
• The concept is to redevelop all these sites in manageable sequence.
• Avail the entire FAR.
• At no cost to Govt.

Demand for Office Space in Central
Business District, Delhi
• MCD at the time of construction of Civic Centre assessed demand for office space
from Govt. agencies. The following Govt. agencies requested space from MCD which
could not be accommodated by MCD:










Ministry of Finance
Central Excise & Customs
Life Insurance Corporation
Ministry of Information Technology
Ministry of Home Affairs
Ministry of Agriculture
