HWAG Healthcare guidelines project Our Goal or Vision: position AAIDD as national leader in healthcare for persons with IDD Method: Use an expert consensus model integrating Canadian and Massachusetts guidelines using representatives from both groups as well as AAIDD HWAG members Focus: healthcare preventive screening for adults with IDD Target audience: persons with IDD, physicians, providers, organizations, family/advocates HWAG Healthcare guidelines project Project stages or Mission: 1. Development of guidelines/standards 2. Development of educational and training programs based on standards 3. Development of Quality measures based on standards 4. Generate data to guide practice based research activities 5.
