Therapeutic groups such as Managing Change, Safer Injecting & Harm Reduction, Addiction Awareness, Offending Behaviour, Anger Management, Sexual Health, Anxiety Management and Personal Development. Education groups (FETAC) include Computers, Horticulture, Health Related Fitness, Yoga, Personal & Interpersonal Skills, Communications and Drama. Criteria – eligible for CE, motivation and openness to change addiction and lifestyle, commit to 19.5 hours weekly, engage in all aspects of the programme and procedures, open to agencies working together. Group meeting every Tuesday Evening from 7.30pm – 9.30pm. Longest established group in St. Dominic’s Community Response Project. Support group, however, therapeutic and education groups run throughout the year on demand, such as Hepatitis and HIV workshops, Stress Management and Addiction Awareness, flower arranging and social events. Holistic Support available. One to one counselling available. This group has their own liaison person who represents them and communicates their internal growth and development. St. Dominic's Community Response Project 2 Prisoner Support Group & Cocaine Service Prisoner Support Group Cocaine Service Support for male prisoners over 18 years of age upon release from custody. One to one support. Crisis Intervention. Holistic care – auricular acupuncture, Hopi Ear Candling and Massage. Counselling available. Referral on – treatment and day programmes. Advocacy. Urinalysis. Harm reduction. Ongoing Support. Criteria – those who are using cocaine or crack cocaine who need support. The group is for those wishing to access residential treatment, detox facilities, day and community programmes. Support people to manage and stabilise prescribed medication and move on with supports in place. Support people to maintain drug free status. Counselling available. Case management. One to one support outside of the group if required. Holistic care. Referral and liaising with treatment facilities and other agencies. Referral – agency or self referral. Contact Jennifer Clancy / Deborah Morgans on 462 0624. Auricular Acupuncture Clinic every Monday evening (except Bank Holidays) from 5.00pm – 7.00pm Free and confidential service. Supports people who have liver disorders, particularly Hepatitis B and C, stress management, sleeping disorders, drug / alcohol detox, withdrawals, arthritis, pain management and personal wellbeing. No appointment necessary as it is a drop in service. Available to service users, their families, service providers and the community. After initial confidential consultation, an individual then goes into a group setting to receive their treatment. Treatment lasts between 30 – 45 minutes. People can come as often or as little as they like. The more they come the more benefits they receive.
