2018 Registration Roadmap
• Specific output of the 2014 ECHA Work Programme
• 2014 will be the year of reflection and review of ECHA
processes, IT tools, support material and communication
• Objectives
• By 2016, adapt and streamline procedures, IT tools and
support to registrants
• Special focus on SME needs
• But will benefit all companies who register in 2018

2018 Registration Roadmap: timeline
• Actions agreed by the end of 2014
• Consultation with stakeholders June - September
• Actions will cover each key step towards
registration, examples:
• Dedicated webpage for 2018 registration
• Sector-specific advice on substance identity
• Enhanced data and cost sharing information
• Revised IUCLID and REACH-IT
• Activities implemented in 2015-2018
• Revised IT tools are scheduled to be ready by early 2016

sameness, SIEF agreement, share data, collect uses
• No – Contact pre-SIEF members to establish
sameness, lead registrant and SIEF agreement

• 1 – 10 tonnes: REACH Annex VII
• 10 – 100 tonnes: REACH Annex VII, Annex VIII plus
chemical safety assessment
• First key step: clearly identify your substances
