How to prepare and submit data to ECHA Since 1 June 2008, following REACH entry into operation, companies have been required to submit information to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). This leaflet provides an overview on the data submission processes for late pre-registrations, PPORD notifications, inquiries and registrations. The REACH-IT portal on the ECHA website is the only channel for companies to submit data to ECHA. For latest news and most up-to-date information please consult the ECHA website REACH-IT Section The web pages in the REACH-IT section are a single point of access to information on how to prepare and submit information to ECHA. They cover PPORD notifications, inquiries and registrations. In addition, information is provided on how to claim a registration number for previously notified substances under Dir. 67/548/EEC. The section has a dedicated page for each of the features described below. Registration A registration must be prepared by creating a dossier in IUCLID 5 and submitting it via REACH-IT. Before submitting a registration, a company should either have pre-registered the substance, or submit an inquiry. When a substance is manufactured or imported by more than one company, these companies have the duty to submit jointly certain information. For the joint submission of a registration dossier, please consider the specific submission requirements for the Lead Registrant and the members, outlined on the REACH-IT webpages. Company Sign-up/Account Creation Company sign-up is a compulsory step companies have to complete before they can submit data to ECHA. During this step an account is created in REACH-IT so that ECHA can always link submitted data to the right company. Late pre-registration Information for late pre-registration for a single substance can be entered and submitted online via the REACH-IT portal. This feature is only available for potential registrants who manufacture or import for the first time a phase-in substance in quantities of one tonne or more per year after 1 December 2008. PPORD Notification Supporting Documents This web page provides an overview of all the REACH-IT manuals and other information that will help you to use REACH-IT and submit data to ECHA. You should read the relevant Data Submission Manuals, and/or REACH-IT Industry User Manuals before you submit a dossier to ECHA. These manuals describe in detail the steps you need to take to compile and submit a compliant dossier, and provide step-by-step instructions on how you should use REACH-IT. The PPORD notification will grant the company the right to manufacture or import a substance for the purpose of Product and Process Orientated Research and Development.
