Who was the Administrator?
“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance,
but He who is coming after me is mightier than I,
whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will
baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire”
Matt. 3:11
Who was the Administrator?
Jn. 1:32-33
And John bore witness, saying, "I saw the Spirit
descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained
upon Him. I did not know Him, but He who sent me to
baptize with water said to me, 'Upon whom you see the
Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who
baptizes with the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the
Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be
witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Lk. 24:9 - wait in Jerusalem until clothed with power
To Whom Was It Promised?
Acts 1:5 “for John truly baptized with water, but you
shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days
from now.”
Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the
Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be
witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
To Whom Was It Promised?
Jn. 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the
Father will send in My name, He will teach you all
things, and bring to your remembrance all things that
I said to you.”
Jn. 16:13 “when He, the Spirit of truth, has come,
He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak
on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will
speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
Who Was Baptized?
Acts 1 - 2
1:15 - 120 disciples
1:26 - numbered with the eleven apostles
2:1 “They” = the 12 apostles
2:4 = they were all filled with the Holy Spirit
2:6 = the multitude came together
2:7 = all these which speak are Galilean - the 120 were not all
Galilean - but the 12 apostles were! 1:11
2:14 = Peter standing up with the eleven
2:37 = the crowd asks the apostles what to do, not the 120
disciples
2:42 = the 3,000 were to continue in the apostles doctrine, not the
120's doctrine.
