You can't motivate someone to achieve their targets (level 4)
when they're having problems with their partner (level 3).
You can't expect someone to be committed to working as a
team (level 3) when they’ve been made homeless (level 1)



Prepare a short presentation designed to introduce your team
members to your group
Break (10 minutes)

Consider the card activity

Agree which factors are important in motivating your team

Place the cards in order of importance

Share your results with your assessor
Consider your three team members you introduced earlier

Are their jobs motivating?

List under each employee the motivating factors in their roles

List the de-motivating factors too



Supervision
Which factors motivate you and your team the most?


Think of your organisation and the factors that are outside
your control
List the factors on paper and discuss them with your assessor
For example:

There might be no opportunity for promotion

There might be a poor reward structure in the company


Who do you go to for support as a team leader?
Think of any other organisations you are aware of and their
organisational structures – are they similar to your own?

Compile a list of the support available to you as team leaders

Discuss the list with your assessor
