是指「對某事物重 視或關注」，
而不是尊重的意思。

此為一平行結構，A和B的結構應相

為一副詞片語，修飾動詞cultivated。
=with natural fertilizers
=without chemical fertilizers。
(4) 逗點後which所帶出的是非限定用法的形容詞子
句，用來補充說明先行詞natural fertilizers，即
使刪去也不影響整句的句意。

(2) confident一般譯為「自信的」，在
這邊是指「確信的，堅信的」。例：

本句使用現在進行式，強調某個動作
或情況的持續性與重複性。例：

是不夠的，心靈的健康也是很重要的。
他們認為身體與心靈會彼此互相影響，
因此他們追求的是一種身心靈的舒適
和諧與健康。在這樣的理念下，瑜伽、
皮拉提斯等活動都相當受到樂活族的
喜愛。
3. be of...importance 具有…的重要性

(1) stay away from和avoid有相近的意思，
都是指「避免，遠離」的意思，作
者為避免重複，故運用不同的動詞。
(2) 後半句是非限定用法的形容詞子句其結
構為「名詞/代名詞 + 介系詞 + 關
係代名詞」。which是指前面的先行詞
luxury goods。

2. responsible capitalism
負責任的資本主義指的是企業界在追
求利潤之餘，仍未忘記自身對於社會
環境的責任。除追求公平競爭、節制
不獲得不合理利潤，以及避免剝削勞
工以外，也能透過相關商品 及服務的
提供，以實際行動傳達對生命的尊重
以及對環境生態存續的關心，以
身作則建立良好示範。

此句為非限定用法的形容詞子句，目
的為補充說明先行詞responsible
capitalism。

4. McDonald’s switched its packaging
for its hamburgers from plastic
foam to paper in the early 1990s....
早期的麥當勞是以發泡塑料製成的盒
子來包裝漢堡，這種材質的優點是重
量輕、防水防油並且能保溫，不過它
不易分解，會對環境造成很大的負
擔。因此，在1990年代初期，隨著環
保意識高漲，這家速食業龍頭敵不過
大眾批評的聲浪，便改用紙類包裝。
5. Coca-Cola’s efforts in the area of

永續包裝包括回收(recycling)、減少
(reducing)和重複利用(reusing)等三
個努力目標。永續包裝的精神在於
如何能夠延長包裝的使用價值，以
及如何以最少的資源達到包裝的效果。
(2) 碳酸飲料是可口可樂公司的重點產
品，這種飲料大多以曲線玻璃瓶包
裝。在2006年，該公司為了減少包
裝材料的使用，便重新設計瓶蓋和
玻璃瓶頸，以降低玻璃材料的使
用。

此處的 that 代替的是前面所說的 a
level，指的是二氧化碳減少的程度。


半部則舉企業界為例(以MacDonald’s
和 Coca-Cola為例)，因此這邊總
結，每一個文化創造者，不管是
individual還是corporate，都在實踐樂
活新思維。本句有承先啟後的功效。
