Students will:
 Identify declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences.
 Use correct punctuation.
Declarative Sentences
 It tells something.
 It ends with a period.
 Examples:
 Deserts are dry.
 You are now in 4th grade.
Interrogative Sentences
 It asks something.
 It ends with a question mark (?).
 Examples:
 Are deserts always hot?
 How old are you?
Imperative Sentences
 It gives an order.
 It ends with a period.
 Examples:
 Always complete your homework.
 Sit down.
Exclamatory Sentences
 It expresses a strong feeling.
 It ends with a punctuation mark.
 Examples:
 How hot it was!
 How exciting that was!
