1. What is a compound object?
A compound object is a complex object
created from two or more objects or
shapes.
Three types in this chapter:
•Loft
•Boolean
•Terrain

2. What is a loft object?
• A loft object is a spline (or 2-D shape) that
is extruded, or lofted, along a path.

3. How can you tell if a shape is invalid when
creating a loft object?
• You cannot select the shape for the
operation.
• The 3ds max prompt line displays the
reason the shape is invalid.

4. When creating a loft object, which spline is
selected first?
• Either, the shape or the path.
• The loft object is generated in the

To display the skin of a loft:
• Check the Skin in Shaded check box
