– Time: 04:00 PM– 07:30 PM (including namaz breaks)

hydrograph analysis, runoff estimation (runoff models), water budget
5. Floods: frequency analysis, flood routing, flood forecasting, flood management
6. Stream Flow Measurement/Monitoring: flow measuring techniques and devices, open
channel hydraulics
7. Groundwater: Hydrology and hydraulics
8. Optimization (Linear programming): Application to hydro-systems
9. Role of RS and GIS in hydrology ( A brief discussion and sum up of course)

Individual projects will be assigned to students based on weekly exercises (will start
from week 3rd)
Project report due at the day of presentation
• Mini Project

Split the class into two groups
– One will be the ‘pro’ group and the other will be the ‘against’ group
– By mid semester there will be a debate between the two groups
– Each group will be given 25min to talk about their views and support them with facts
and figures (reliable references needed)
– Then there will be a question/answer session between the two groups. Audience may
also ask question
Homework/Project/Quiz/Exams
• Homework: Students will be required to do homework and
submit on the date mentioned on homework
• Workshop Assignments: Each student will be assigned an
exercise after each lab topic covered that will eventually be
converted into term project
• Quiz: Several in class Quiz (both surprise and informed)
• OHT: 2 in class OHT (approximately 1/3 of the course
coverage)
• Lab Midterm: 1 Lab midterm (decide later)
• Project Presentation: On week before Final Exam
• Final Exam: Comprehensive coverage of the course during
the last week of semester
