The rules of making the recipe
1.One group makes one recipe including at least two dishes—
one main dish & one kind of dessert
(You have to make sure you can cook them.)
2.Try to write down the recipe for the dishes in your own
words and post it on the blog “Geography Teaching” in
Word Form. (It would be better if you illustrate the dishes with
pictures.)
3. One is responsible for the video, another for explaining
how to make the dish, still others for preparing the dishes.
4.Prepare more ingredients lest you fail in your first try.
5.In the first class, try cooking the dishes. In the second
class, start recording the process of cooking, finish your
dishes and explain how delicious your dishes are.
The rules of making the recipe
1. 一組擬定一份食譜, 至少2道菜---1道主菜 & 1道
甜點 (以作得出來為主)
2. 食譜請用自己的話寫,不要太繞舌或看不懂(附圖
例說明更好),請在地理教學平台繳交作業。
3. 一人負責錄影,一人負責解說如何烹飪,其他人分
工合作,如洗菜、切菜、準備材料等。
4. 多準備一些材料,以免第一次煮失敗了而沒材料
用。
5. 第一節課先試作一份成品,將一切東西準備好;第
二節開始錄影,煮好菜,把菜吃完,並形容你們那
組的菜多好吃。
Main Dish︰ Chinese Dumplings
Ingredients
1.Some dumpling
wraps
2.Ground pork or
lamb
3.Cabbage
4.Salt
5.Black pepper
6.Sesame oil
7.Balm
8. Tai bai
fen(cooking
starch)
Step 1
Shred the
cabbage
and put into
a stainless
pot.
Step 2
Mix the cabbage and ground meat together
by hand.
Ground meat is meat
finely chopped by a
meat grinder. Pork
and lamb are
generally preferred
for Chinese
dumplings, but beef,
chicken, and turkey
may be used as well.
Step 3
Add the balm, salt and a little tai bai
fen (cornstarch/ cornflour) and mix
again.
Step 4
Massage the
cabbage mixture
with your hand
for 10 minutes. to
make it dry. While
you massage the
mixture, if you
feel that there is
not enough tai
bai fen, you
should add more.
Step 5
Put the
mixture
on the
wrapping.
Step 6
Wet the edge
with a damp
finger and fold
the sides
together,
crimping
(pressing
together) with
your fingers to
seal the contents
inside.
Step 7
Wrap the
crusts up
as in the
picture.

Put the
dumplings
in boiling
water.
Step 8
To make sure that they are thoroughly
cooked, one method in China is the "3
boil" method: Add the dumplings to
boiling water, and return the water to a
boil. Then add 1 or 2 cups of water
(cold or room temp). Wait for it to boil
the second time, then add water again.
After the water boils the third time, it's
done!

Transfer the
dumplings
carefully
from the pot
to a plate
and enjoy.

the soy
sauce ,
the rice
vinegar,
garlic
sauce ,
sesame oil
Dessert︰
glutinous rice balls (Tang yuan)
Ingredients:
1.1 cup glutinous
rice flour
2. 120C.C. water
3. brown sugar to
taste
4. Food coloring
(optional)
5. Fresh ginger
(optional)
Step 1
Pour the
glutinous rice
flour in a bowl
and slowly add
water until the
mixture
becomes the
texture of
dough.
Step 2
Massage the
dough for
about 5
minutes. You
can divide the
dough in half
and add food
coloring to
one half.
Step 3
Pinch off
pieces of
the dough
and roll it
into small
balls.
Step 4
Drop the balls
into boiling
water and
cook them
until they
float - about 5
to 10 minutes.
Step 5
While the balls
are cooking,
prepare a sweet
soup by boiling
water and
adding brown
sugar. Fresh
ginger can also
be added to the
soup.
Step 6
Put the
cooked
balls into
the soup
and serve.
Step 7
Tong Yuan can
also be stuffed
with a paste
made from
peanut butter,
black sesame
seeds or red
beans.
