Wait listing - Lessons Learned • Waitlists and Add Codes don’t play well together – Add codes used as ‘permit to register’ before term • Beware the ‘Waitlist Drop’ issue – Students get assessed fees for using the incorrect code • Beware the ‘No Notice’ period • Instructors either love it or hate it Satisfied Customer! Bless you! The Wait List worked like a charm! I e-mailed the first 4 people on the wait list a few days before class met and advised them to come to class in case I had no shows. For the most part, I was able to admit them (took a few above seat count plus had a couple noshows). I posted a notice on my door informing students that the class was full and that I had already admitted the students on the wait list and I asked them not to disturb the class. I was able to actually make use of the class time- not have to spend it blocking the door or arguing with angry students. We all feel for their predicament but we have to attend to those who are in our class and give them the instruction they expect and deserve. Thanks for making that possible!!!!!
