Community Service Project
December 15 – March 31, 2015
Calling all knitters and
crocheters. The NMPL Knit
Wits Group invites you to
participate in our annual
Community Service Project.
We are making chemo caps,
hats, mittens, scarves, lap
blankets and prayer shawls to
be donated to 3 organizations.
Pick up a handout at the
Circulation Desk. For more

Free Tax Help From Volunteers
Fridays through April 10, 2015
Need help preparing your
2014 taxes? Well on Fridays
from 10 AM - 2 PM IRS
Certified Volunteers will be
here to help you at no cost!
These volunteers are trained
and tested in current tax law
using IRS materials. Just call
203-826-9517 to schedule
an appointment. See the Tax

to bring with you.
eBooks at the Library
March 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 at 4 PM
This is an open Q&A
session for New Milford
residents who would like
help setting up their
downloadable library
eBooks. Bring your device,
your library card and your
questions. No appointment
is necessary, just walk in.
There will be 5 sessions in
March: March 2, March 9,
March 16, March 23 and
March 30.
Evening Book Discussion

Abby Ripley, a New Milford
resident, has graciously
agreed to be the facilitator of
this group and has come up
with a terrific list of books.
The book for March is “Wolf
Hall” by Hilary Mantel and
the library will provide the
books.
The group is limited to 10

K-9 Crime Scene Investigation
March 4 at 6:30 PM
K-9 units investigate many
types of crime scenes:
suspects, explosives, and
even victims. Join us at 6:30
PM as CT State Trooper
Jessica Colburn discusses
all of these types of
investigations. Come with
your questions and meet
her and her canine partner!

NMPL’s Writers’ Group
March 5 & 19 at 6:30 PM
Are you a writer? Looking
for support, encouragement,
and critique? Then join our
Writers' Group facilitated by
Dennie DeBellis. We meet
the first (1st) and third (3rd)
Thursday of the month from
6:30 - 7:30 PM in the
Connecticut Room.
The group is limited to 8, so

Monday Movies at NMPL
March 9 at 1:00 PM
Come view foreign films
and discuss them. This
month in this free series we
will feature “You Will Be
My Son.”
The film is in French with
English subtitles. It is rated
R and runs 102 minutes.
Light refreshments and a
discussion will follow the
presentation.
Korean Lantern
March 18 at 6:30 PM
The Korean Spirit and Culture
Promotion Project will once
again present a class on
creating a Lotus Lantern. Plus
there is a short film on Korean
artistic tradition and traditional
Korean refreshments will be
served. The workshop is
limited to 30 people, so
please register soon.
This program is provided
through the generosity of the
FRIENDS of NMPL.
Science Fiction Book Group
March 18 at 6:30 PM
Marilyn Gunerman, a New
Milford resident, has
graciously agreed to be the
facilitator of this group. All
book choices are drawn from
award winners. The group
meets the third (3rd)
Wednesday of the month in
the Connecticut Room.
The library will provide the
books. The group is limited to
10 people, so please call to
sign up.
Friday Forum – March 20 at
1:00 PM in Memorial Hall
This is our monthly series
where we host a mystery
book discussion group.
This month's book is
“Christine Falls” by
Benjamin Black.
We provide the books and
you provide the insight! The
group is limited to 15
people, so please check if
there is room by calling 860355-1191 x203.
A Fashionable Frolick
March 21 at 2:00 PM
Three interpreters will offer
a clothing display featuring
a selection of museumquality reproduction of
women’s clothing and
accessory items
representative of those
worn during the American
Revolution. Registration is
requested.
Program is co-sponsored
with the Roger Sherman
Chapter, Daughters of the
American Revolution.
“Reel Justice” Film Series
March 25 at 6:00 PM
Our film series “Reel Justice:
Great Courtroom Dramas”
continues. This series,
selected and hosted by Mark
Hasskarl, NMPL Director, will
offer a total of 10 films shown
monthly on Wednesdays at
6:00 PM. This free series will
also offer film notes and
refreshments. Tonight’s
movie is “Judgment at
Nuremberg.” For the
