What do we know
about Muhammad*?
Activity: Storyboard
• In Islam, the issue of what
can or cannot be drawn is
sometimes argued. This is
for many reasons, including
that the prophet Muhammad
(pbuh) saw it as a form of
idol worship.
• Other Muslims believe that
Muhammad and other people
should not be drawn as God
created man and man should
not attempt to recreate
him/her in visual form.
• Create a storyboard on
the life of Muhammad.
• However as Muslims do
not believe in depicting
Muhammad, you must
complete the
storyboard without
drawing any people or
animals.

Southpark and Muhammad.
• As we have discussed
previously it is
forbidden to depict
Muhammad in any way.
• Recently South Park has
went against this
religious rule.
• As a result their lives
were threaten by
Muslim extremists.
Debate: Do you think South Park
was right to show Muhammad in
this way despite it being against
Muslims religious law?
Is this freedom of speech or
religious hatred?
