 The Daniel Plan focuses on "The Simple Six" core
principles, designed to accompany the Small Group study
or be implemented at your individual pace. The first two
principles are about getting prepared and principles three
through six will develop and implement The Daniel
Plan's healthy habits into your lifestyle.
CONNECT FOR SUCCESS
 We're Better Together!
While The Daniel Plan can be done on your own,
sustained lifestyle change works best in groups or with a
partner. Consider asking a friend or two to join or at least
support you on your journey - because we are "better
together".
ECCLESIASTES 4:9 -12
Two are better than one because they have a
good reward for their efforts. For if either fails,
his companion can lift him up; but pity the one
who falls without another to lift him up...A cord
of three strands is not easily broken.
RELY ON GOD'S POWER
 To accomplish a new healthy lifestyle, you will need to rely
on God's power to take bold steps to improve your life. God
wants you to be healthy, so changes to how you eat, move and
think are necessary. Ask Him for help and identify the various
ways your life will improve with better health. Don't try to
change all by yourself; with God and one or more friends, you
can do it!
PSALM 30:2
O Lord my God, I cried to
you for help and you
restored my health.
EAT DELICIOUS WHOLE FOODS
Dr. Daniel Amen says, "Only put whole, high
quality foods into your body" - fruits,
vegetables, and lean proteins. Imagine the
Garden of Eden. Avoid fast, packaged, and
"convenience" foods. Drink plenty of water.

But Daniel made up his mind that he would
not defile himself with the king's choice of
food or with the wine which he drank; so he
sought permission from the commander of the
officials that he might not defile himself.

Moving can be as simple as taking a
walk. The Daniel Plan focuses us on
keeping active, finding ways to enjoy
exercise, and realizing that God made
our bodies for movement.
1 CORINTHIANS 6:19 -20
Don't you realize that your body is the temple
of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was
given to you by God? You do not belong to
yourself, for God bought you with a high price.
So you must honor God with your body.
THINK SHARPER AND SMARTER
Consistent Daniel Plan living leads to
improved physical and spiritual health. While
you build your brain health by eating quality
calories and moving more each day, plan on
spending regular quiet time with God to renew
your spiritual and mental health too.
ROMANS 12:2
Don't copy the behavior and customs of this
world, but let God transform you into a new
person by changing he way you think. Then you
will learn to know God's will for you, which is
good and pleasing and perfect.
HEAL FOR LIFE
 The Daniel Plan is not a diet. It's a lifestyle.
Continuing on this journey will help you avoid many
chronic illnesses that plague 50% of Americans. Develop
a strategy that makes The Daniel Plan yours for life. Be
like Daniel and refuse to compromise. Soon your physical
and spiritual health will be contagious!
